Burials:

Below is a brief explanation of the Burial Permission Policies. You will need to contact us for additional information.

  • The land was given by Daniel and Julia Arwine when the community was small and most of the families were related by blood or marriage.
  • The management of the Cemetery is provided by interest received from gifts made by descendants of these original settlers.
  • It is not a public cemetery since the Charter does not empower the directors to sell lots, and it is a “Not for Profit” organization.
  • There are only a few spaces remaining and these are reserved for families of the supporting members of the Association.  If additional space is needed, the Arwine Cemetery Association (ACA) will work with the family to find a plot.  This may have to be added in an area away from the original family graves.
  • Under the Charter of the Arwine Cemetery Association, the directors have the sole right to determine interment. The right is by permit only.

 

Procedure for Interment:

Factors:

    o Eligibility – Must be related to family member buried at Arwine Cemetery – see the form below to fill out and submit to the Board via email at [email protected]

    o  Board Approval – this email will be forwarded to the ACA Board for validation and approval to proceed.  You will receive approval via email or phone.  

    o Fee Requirements – Must remit to ACA (Arwine Cemetery Association) Treasurer:  $1,000 Total Payment for:  
        • $800 ACA Administrative Fee
        • $200 Permanent Marker deposit
    o Grave Location – Must flag grave site for the grave digger after approval by an ACA Board Member

    o Update Grave Plot – The ACA board member must email [email protected] the exact grave location so the master plot map  can be updated.  

• Costs:

   $1,000 Total Payment for:

  –  $800 ACA Administrative Fee – Goes into the perpetual endowment fund
  –  $200 deposit if a permanent marker is not present, which may be refunded, upon request, after a permanent marker is installed and/or updated within a 12 month period after death.

     Determine from Family of the Deceased, (See ‘Eligibility for Burial / Kinship form from www.arwinecemetery.com the name of the                   Pioneer Family
     Contact ACA to verify approval (Officer or Board Member from Website)
     Collect required fees and forward to ACA Treasurer (from Website)

  o Family of the Deceased
     Contact ACA to verify approval (Officer or Board Member from Website)
     Provide a $1000 check to Funeral Director for forwarding to ACA Treasurer:
        • $800 Administrative fee – perpetual endowment fund
        • $200 Permanent marker – may be refunded, upon request, after a permanent marker is installed and/or updated.
     After approval by ACA, Family is to mark the grave site for the grave excavation.

Arwine Cemetery is not a public cemetery and is for Interment of descendants of the original settlers. Space is limited and reserved for families of the supporting members of the Arwine Cemetery Association.

Under the Charter of the Arwine Cemetery Association, the directors have the sole right to determine interment eligibility. This right is by ACA approval only.

Note:  If a person has been buried at Arwine Cemetery and it’s found out that they are not directly related to the cemetery family any relatives of this person are NOT allowed future burials at ACA.
